I am unable to access the YADB server when I use the “Record Sound…” function to rip an album.  I can rip a CD, see that Media Center successfully accesses the YADB server, then immediately try the “Record Sound…” function and get “Failed to access YADB server”.

I have tried this dozens of times, read all I could about this problem in this forum and the internet, tried this with firewalls disabled, etc, etc, etc… but I still have the problem.

Here is exactly what I am doing:

1.   Access the Tools menu
2.   Select the “Advanced Tools” option
3.   Select the “Record Sound…” option
4.   Press the Tracks button
5.   Enter the Artist and Album information that I want to search for
6.   Press the “Search Internet” button
7.   I briefly get a pop-up window titled “Please Wait…” with “Searching YADB database” in the middle of the window
8.   I then get a pop-up window titled “Information” with “Failed to connect to YADB server” in the middle of the window

Please help.

  • Where did I put my teeth?

YADB won't work with recording.  If you get a good track from your recording, you could try a right click, track look-up.

This is looking up track times/titles when ripping a vinyl album, right? I'll check on this.

Thanks,
