problem updating to 11.1.191
« on: August 06, 2006, 02:59:28 pm »

Greetings, friends.

I'm trying to update to the latest version of MC11.  I'm running 11.1.183.  When I select "check for updates," it says no updates are available.

Do I have to manually download and install 11.1.191?

Thanks!

The latest build is always on this board.  It gets moved to the download page when we think it's significantly better.

When the updated version gets moved, is that the time that my program will download and install it automatically?

If I download the updated version from the board, will the program re-install entirely, or will it act like an update?  I'd rather not have to restore my databases, etc., unless I have to.

Thanks, Jim.

It'll be an update, although it does re-install entirely.

Here's how to do it:

Download the version you want (191) (use the "save" option. I save the builds in an "MCexe" folder I put in the JRiver folder). Do a "Library Back Up" then close MC. (Do not uninstall).

Install the update (191). Check "Agree" when prompted, choose "Express" or "Custom" install.

License will install automatically. MC will open when install is complete.

You may lose some settings, so check everything after the update.
