MC 11.x Install Key not working on MC12
« on: January 22, 2007, 09:15:51 am »

My install key is rejected as being not valid for MC 12. I am positive I had it for MC 11, later than 11.1, but I have now deleted MC11 so I can't find the evidence. Can you advise? If I email the install key reference, can you check its validity?

Thanks

A MC11 key is not valid for MC12. The latest versions of MC11 work with either a MC11 or a MC12 key, and purchase through these latest versions would get an MC12 key.  Your key is MC11, you purchased before we made the switch to MC12.

I haven't been checking upgrades in recent months. If I'm a registered user of MC 11, will a restore key work with MC 12? Or do you want another $40 from me for MC 12?

Thanks

MC12 is not a free upgrade from MC11.1, unless you purchased MC11.1 very recently (since they announced MC12 and made it publicly available basically).

However, if you are a registered owner of MC9 or later then the upgrade price is not $40.  The upgrade price from any version of MC from 9.0 - 11.1 is $19.98.  Please refer to this thread for more information: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=36064.0

To qualify for the upgrade price, you must have your prior version of MC installed and registered, and then make the purchase through MC's interface.

Licensed/Registered/Paid/Installed/-What else do you want from me?

I've spent about two hours now trying to find an upgrade path. I've read every post I can find. I've tried every unnecessary suggestion I can find. There isn't one!
Surely there must be an easier way, than to have your customers getting more and more frustrated! How many of us do you turn away?

Give me an upgrade path or I'll have to switch to an inferior product. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I'm done wasting my time on this.
Great product, terrible support   :-[

It is not that hard

If MC11 Is registered, install MC12..

When MC12 is installed it will allow you to Buy MC12

Thru A Upgrade Path.

Many thanks to KingSparta!!

I have seen many references to reinstalling v11 and trying to upgrade again, but not a single reference to downloading and installing v12-trial before trying to upgrade.

It really isn't that hard   ;D
