iPod Sync Failure
« on: September 20, 2007, 11:09:22 am »

I have been trying for a couple of days now to get my library onto my iPod. I have a Classic 80Gb. The first attempt was with the previous ver of MC and it trashed my Database. Now, I tried with the latest version and all seemed to be going okay. I have over 8,000 songs all in Ape format that are being converted to mp3 @ 320vbs. When I initially started my synch, MC reported something like 28 hours to go. I have been synching all this time. I finally got down to 45 minutes left today when MC just shut itself down. When I restarted MC and reinitiated the sync, MC told me I was over by 5.5GB. (I'm nowhere near that), and offer to remove files to continue. I said yes. Now MC says there is 15 hours to go!!!

I cancelled the sync and ejected the ipod. When I look on the ipod it reports that there are only 1800 songs on there. Looking at the iPod drive in Windows Explorer shows 58.3GB used with 15.9GB available. So, the files are on there but it looks like the database is toast again. I'm going to have to go back to iTunes.

Are you using build 329?  If not, please try it.
