One Of My Two APC Back-UPS XS 1500 Systems Kind Of Went off Line

I Am Not Sure If It Is Just The Main Pack Or Not

A APC battery Pack Is $98 (Two Batteries), They Can Be Replaced Easily

At This Point I Am Not Sure If The BR24BP Is Bad

I Am Thinking Of Destroying It Just So I Can See Whats Inside.

A Extended Battery Pack (BR24BP The Complete Unit) Is $199 There Must Be Two Sets Of Battery Packs Inside.

I Got Back From Batteries Plus, They Said The Battery Was Good.

How old is the backup? I've got to change the battery on mine soon, it's several years old now.

It Will Not Power Up If I Plug It Back In.

I Noticed A Problem A Few Weeks Ago When The Power Went Off For An Hour, It Died Right A Way.

The Other Day It Just Went off When I Was Watching TV And Never Worked Since.

So even when it is plugged in (not running on batteries), you don't get power coming out? That sounds like the UPS died, not a battery problem.

Yep, I Plan On Taking It Apart To See If There Is Anything I Can See That's Obvious.

APC Does Offer About $98 Off Of A New One, A New One Retails At $399, Then Add The $98 Discount.

Look at the capacitors for puffy tops, very common hardware problem... -- j

In The Army When I Was Working In the HMSC 782nd Engineer Shop I Repaired Voltage Regulators, And The Main Problem With Them Was Diodes.

What Would Happen Is The Operator Of The Generator Would Turn The Engine Off Without Turning Off The Circuit Breaker. So The Voltage Regulator Would Try To Compensate As The RPM's Of The Engine Slowed Down. After A Time The Regulator Would Just burn out.

When We Got It In The Shop We Would Need To Take Each Diode Lose From The Circuit Card And Test The Diodes, I Think There was 8 Or So To Check. There Was Some Capacitors As Well We Had To Checked By Using A Capacitor Tester.

The Other Day On "How It's Made" They Showed How Large Transformers Are Made. After They Wrap Them Mineral Oil Is Used To Fill The Container. So I Learned Something That Day.

Yesterday They Made Hotdogs, Over 800,000 Per Hour From That Factory.
