I have upgraded MC to 470 and have the following system info:

Media Center 12.0.470 Registered -- C:\Program Files\Media Center 12\

Microsoft Windows XP  Workstation 5.1 Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Intel Pentium 4 2992 MHz MMX / Memory: Total - 523 MB, Free - 141 MB

Internet Explorer: 7.0.5730.11 / ComCtl32.dll: 5.82.2900 / Shlwapi.dll: 6.0.2900 / Shell32.dll: 6.0.2900 / wnaspi32.dll: 4.60 (1021) , ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL, Copyright ᄅ 1989-1999 Adaptec, Inc. / Aspi32.sys: 4.60 (1021)

Ripping /   Drive D: MATSHITADVD-RAM UJ-820S   Mode:Normal  Type:Auto  Speed:Max
Digital playback: Yes /  Get cover art: Yes /  Calc replay gain: Yes /  Copy volume: 32767
Eject after ripping: Yes /  Play sound after ripping: No

Burning /  Drive D: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-820S    Addr: 1:0:0  Speed:16  MaxSpeed:16  BurnProof:Yes
Test mode: No /  Eject after writing: Yes /  Direct decoding: Yes /  Write CD-Text: Yes
  Use playback settings: No /

Portable Device Info
  Removed devices:

Interface Plugins:
  last.fm (Active)
  Library Server (Active)
  TiVo Server (Active)
  UPnP Server (Active)

-------------------------------

I repeatedly get an "Insert blank CD" message when I try to burn an audio CD.  MC doesn't recognize my drive or doesn't see that there IS a blank CD inserted.  What do I do?  MC plays from the drive fine.

Did it burn ok with a previous version of MC? (which version?)

Media Jukebox burned beautifully, never had a problem.  When I was forced to upgrade to MC, I started with 450.  I have yet to be able to burn a CD with MC.  I have administrative privileges.

Did you reboot after installing?  It shouldn't be necessary, but it's worth a try.

Did you try reinstalling?

I repeatedly get an "Insert blank CD" message when I try to Burn an audio CD.  MC doesn't recognize my drive or doesn't see that there IS a blank CD inserted.  What do I do?  MC plays from the drive fine and Windows Media will burn as well as Drag 'n Drop.  What's wrong with Media Center?

I don't know if this would help or not, but you could remove the old ASPI drivers. I don't think they are needed anymore, but probably MC uses them if they are installed.

At least you could update the Adaptec ASPI drivers to the last version (released in 2002):
http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/downloads/ms/ms_win_xp?productId=ASPI-4.70&dn=Windows+ASPI+Package

The version 4.60 was released before XP.

This is just a plain old blank 74 or 80 minute CD and you're not prepping it or formatting it with other software right? And you are selecting the audio cd mode in MC?

Please send me a log file. Enable "output to a log file" in Help/Logging. Then attempt a burn, then "click to email log files" to johnt at jriver.com

Thanks.
