there will be more, for sure...
two to start with, that I'm pretty sure are xml related, but can't figure it out:

1. why does the volume slider move slightly to the left when I mute the sound?

2. why, when stopped, does a small (five pixels-ish) part of the progress bar front still show, when in other skins, it hides completely?

Any particular skin?
1.  It doesn't on Noire.
2. Good question... it happens on my skins but not Noire.  I'm sure it used to happen on Noire however I remember seeing it before hence I never worried about it.

After much trial and error and switching images around, I've got both answers...

1. There was something amiss with my volume thumb image. I still don't know what it was, all the images were the same size, evenly spaced and in line. I made a fresh one from scratch and things are fine now.

2. I dropped my position slider thumb image into Noire, and then saw the same effect there. Closer inspection of the default Noire thumb image shows that the fourth image cunningly lays over the top of the exposed progress bar, giving the impression of an empty progress bar!!

Number 2 is definitley worth knowing.
I'll see if I can reproduce that with my stuff!
