Converter won't work
« on: August 15, 2010, 12:52:06 pm »

I am trying to convert mp4 files to mp3 using the converter in media center and I keep getting the message, "Information" "Failed to convert 1 file" "Please ensure you files exist, and are of a supported file format".

The files exist becaues MC 15 can play them just fine in mp4. I do believe these are supported formats. Any suggestions?

So you have mp4 audio file you want to convert to mp3?

The problem is MC generally treats mp4 as video.  You can rename the mp4 files to m4a and make sure m4a type is played in "JRiver audio engine (using DirectShow filters)".  Then you should be able to convert.

Woops, that was a typo. The files are m4a, not mp4 and MC won't convert them. I get the message that I mentioned above. Any other suggestions?

Try installing DCBass.  Here's a starting point:

I've INstalled DCBass but now I cannot figure out how to get MC to use it as it's default engine. The instructions on the link you posted are for MC 12 which I'm guessing had a different path in the options for making this setting. I cannot find it in MC 15.
