Problem: Sychronization with Network Folder
« on: October 23, 2010, 10:39:47 am »

I just upgraded to MC15 from MC12 thinking it would remedy this problem.
I use MC to synchronize playlists to another PC on my network.  I have been running the synchronization process like this for years with few issues.  About a month ago while running the sync routine using MC12, it crashed, forcing a re-boot.  Every attempt to synchronize that folder since resulted in MC not recognizing existing files.  It would display a few duplicates not to be copied (normal), but displayed the remaining 3000+ songs as "In Queue".  I upgraded to MC15 and tried a fresh sych to a new empty folder, let it finish overnight, and now have the same problem.  By selecting "Recheck Sync" MC shows all tracks as "In Queue"!

Please help.

That sounds like some of the files are corrupt or there is a problem with the disc drive.

I am synchronizing the same standard mp3, flac and wma files as before when it worked just fine.
I can access the network drive from other tools, ie. windows explorer and sonos, with no problems.

I also tried synchronizing to a shared folder on the same PC as MC with a small test playlist and got the same results - MC will continue to copy songs over and over with (1), (2), (3), etc. added to the filenames each time I try to sychronize.

I can not use MC to synchronize because of this on going problem.
MC continues to create duplicates anytime a sychronization is done.
Please reply or provide another form of support - phone number to call or other...

Thank you,

This is support.

Make sure you have the most recent build of MC.  15.0.159 is at the top of this board.

Maybe you're moving both files and playlists?  Try one or the other.

Syncing to another PC isn't officially supported.  How are you doing it?  Please provide details, including the connection.  Are you mapping a drive?  How?
