Inconsistencies with Video Files
« on: June 10, 2002, 12:48:40 pm »

1) When I open Windows Explorer, then single click (single click is my default) a video file (Mpg, avi, wmv), MJ8 starts behind Windows Explorer and not on top of it. I think MJ8 should jump on top.

2) When MJ8 is minimized in system tray and I click on a video file in Windows Explorer, then I can hear the sound, but no video is displayed. I think in this case MJ should pop up automatically and display the video. I have to maximize MJ by hand missing the beginning of the video, even if it is just a few seconds.

3) When in MJ8 some album or artist is selected in Media Library and then either click on a video file in Windows Explorer or select a video file with File>Open Media, then I can hear the sound, but MJ8 does not automatically switch to Playing now and display the video.

So in all 3 cases the MJ8 does not recognize the video playing and does not display it automatically.

Also, when I right click on Windows Explorer on a music or video file and select play, I think the right click should change to stop, otherwise I have to maximize MJ8 to stop.

Not real bugs, but small inconsistencies compared to the more simpler handling of audio files compared to video files.

In Settings>Options>Startup Settings the following settings are set:
Startup Mode: Mega-Me
Startup Page: Start MJ in Media Library, expand subfolders
