streaming from phone to jriver controlled speakers
« on: November 09, 2015, 04:16:22 pm »

I would like to be able to play music from my phone, either from its storage or from an app, to my jriver server (using Bluetooth) and have jriver control the audio; meaning able to send the audio to which zones I choose.

Scenario I am picturing is a friend walking into the house, connecting his phone via Bluetooth to jriver, opening Spotify on his phone, and then opening jremote/gizmo on my tablet/phone and sending the Bluetooth audio to zones 2,3, and 6.

This possible?

If you're connecting your phone to a PC, the bluetooth connection will either be as a network device (file sharing etc) or to route audio from the phone to the PC speakers directly (not via MC), so I don't think what you're trying to do is possible.

If your computer has a bluetooth input that can receive audio in windows, you could conceivably use the WDM driver to re-route the output back into JRiver.  I had been toying with the idea but was having a hard time finding a PC bluetooth receiver that could reliably receive an audio stream (some say they can, but can't, or don't support it in windows 10).
