MJ 8.0.293 - Toolbar display bug
« on: June 06, 2002, 11:06:43 am »

Hi,

again some information about the toolbar-display-bug. Maybe someone can help to fix this problem.

It happens only when I start mj maximized. When leaving it non-maximized and change the link-properties to "normal window" everything looks fine (grey background). When leaving mj maximized and giving the link "maximized window" then background is white for every first start.
After moving cursor over the buttons the backgound turns to grey. When minimizing and opening again or resizing mj the toolbar also has grey background.

My system info:

Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.293
Install Path: C:\Programme\J River\Media Jukebox\

CPU: AMD Athlon 729 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 392 MB, Free - 267 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000  Workstation 5.0 Service Pack 2 (Build 2195)

Internet Explorer: 5.50.4807.2300
ComCtl32.dll: 5.50.4807.2300
Shlwapi.dll: 5.50.4807.2300
Shell32.dll: 5.00.3502.4718
wnaspi32.dll: N/A

And here some additional information:
mb: Asus k7v (via kx133)
gpu: Ati all-in-wonder 128 pro (rage 128 pro)

I use the newest stable drivers for all main components (and haven't changed them for ca. 3 month). Also some builds before mj's toolbar works fine ... . The only thing that has been changed were ie-updates.

Hope this will help.

Bye,
Peradon

Same problem here, this has been reported, but MJ people have not been able to reproduce this problem.

When MJ opens maximized the title bar is white, if you minimize than maximized the title bar is gray!

Are you using any other skinning?  Windowblinds, for example?

No skins here, too.

If you want me to, I'll try some older builds (but I only have few because of my monthly backups). It won't be funny but if it helps ... I know there were builds that do not have this problem.

Are you using slideshow or albumview or anything else that affects video?

I reported in the 8.0.293 announcement thread that I still have this problem.  JimH requested I start a new thread.  Since there is already a thread, I'm joining this one.  I'm not using "slideshow or albumview or anything else that affects video".  My video card is made by Xtasy based on the nVidia GeForce3 Ti 200 chip.  I'm using the current driver from nVidia.

Not using anything additional, only pure mj - no skins, no dsp, no eq, no visualizatons ... . Also I don't use any program to change the appearence of any of my applications.

As additional information:
Office xp (maybe there are some new toolbar drawing-functions that affect to mj's appearence).

Can everyone having this problem have a conversation about other equipment and software you're using to see if there is anything you have in common.  Audiogalaxy, for example.  Anything at all that is running.

Also, how you use or start the program (minimized, etc).

We know it's there, but we can't duplicate it, so it's just not possible to fix until we can.

If you haven't done it, do IE/Tools/Windows Update and see what Microsoft says about your OS.

Hi,

maybe you know it, but maybe you already forgot it. The 'toolbar-bug' is still there. Toolbars background is drawn white when starting mj maximized. But when resizing the window or move another window shortly over the toolbar the background is redrawn correctly (grey). I'm not using anything special (no skins etc.). It's the only flaw I'm having with mj for many builds and it's a little bit anoying to start, minimize and maximize mj everytime I like to listen to my music.

Can't you make mj to draw the toolbar-background twice or try a different method of drawing the grey color? Maybe this will help. I wonder why there have been many old builds where the toolbar is drawn ok ...
