Play recorded TV from Panason DMR-BW880 in MC 16
« on: June 18, 2011, 08:40:11 pm »

Hi,
I'm trying JRiver MC for the first time and have installed v16 on Windows 7.
I have my new Panasonic DMR-BW880 connected to the network and recorded tv plays ok using XBMC so I know the device is working.
DMR-BW880 shows up in the playing now list in MC16 but when I click the load library button I get this error:

There was a problem retrieving from the selected DLNA server.
Please ensure that the server you are connecting to supports search, and that it is running properly.
Your library may be incomplete until you correct the problem and reload the library.

Does anyone know how to make it work?

Thanks,
Phil

Welcome to the forum.

DLNA has a few options you could try.

Conversion may be required.

Try audio first to get the library working.  Then try video.

My understanding from what I read on the DLNA instructions page is that the first step is to load the library from the now playing list. I had not got as far as trying to open any audio or video files.
Can you point me in the right direction? Is there something else I should do first?
Thanks,
Phil

I tried recording an audio file on the DMR-BW880 and then opening it in the play now list but I can't see any way to get to the audio or video files without loading the library first and that always gives the error about the problem retrieving from the selected DLNA server.
Is loading the library the first thing I need to do?
Thanks,
Phil
