Removing Album Covers from "Images"
« on: August 04, 2011, 06:42:52 pm »

Running the latest MC on Windows 7 (64). I noticed in the "Images" section many of the cover art images (cover.jpg) when I imported the music files (FLAC). I am not sure if I simply forgot to uncheck "images" on import, or if this is "normal". I would like to import real images/photo's but would like to remove all the cover art which shows up in the Images section. I just want to make sure this wont remove the cover art for the albums, assuming they are imported/stored separately from images imported into the Images section - hopefully that makes sense.

:)

Highlight them and right-click.
Choose "remove from list (del)"
You will be prompted whether you want to remove from library or delete the files also.
Just choose the remove from library option.
This will only remove them from the J River database and leaves the actual files intact to be used as cover art.

Or you can edit the images viewscheme and add a filter that says when filename(name) is not cover.jpg.
This leaves them in the library but they will be filtered out and not displayed in that particular view.

Thanks kindly. I only get a single option (after highlighting and right-clicking) for "Delete" and no "remove from list (del)". Does the option to "Remove from Library" come after that? If it does, then bad, bad design! Needs to be explicit and on the right-click menu as two distinct delete/remove options.

I highlight a jpg.  press del button on keyboard or right-click, delete.
I get a prompt that says:

CONFIRM ACTION
* Remove from media library
* Remove from medial library and send to recycle bin
* Remove from media library and permanently delete from disk
