controlling settings from "client"

Hi
I was wondering if it is possible to control, (in this case) dsp equalizer setting from a 'remote' computer.
JRiver is installed on my main computer that is located in a small room next to my Living room. this computer is connected to the amplifier.
from this room it has little use to try an set eq setting as i can not hear directly what i'm doing. so I was trying from a laptop to control the settings of the JRiver server. while I'm able to control the zone remotely playlist music etc. when changing settings however in dsp they have no effect.
Is it at all possible to control such settings remotely?

Your best bet is probably VNC.

I could be wrong, Jim, but I don't think it works with DSP.  It certainly does NOT with options under Tools -> Options.

Agreed on the VNC tip.

Another good plan would be to set it all once, with multiple zones if you need multiple different "configs".  Then, once you have it how you want it, you can switch zones using Tremote (or Gizmo or WebRemote or whatever).

Using zones is a good tip.

To configure the zones and other options VNC is good. From all VNC variants I can recommend UltraVNC. After testing many of them I have settled on it. It has nice usability features and it works extremely well on Windows PCs on LAN (install also the video hook driver to get best performance.) Only 3D graphics and video playback do not work in a usable way (it would be quite impossible to stream high quality decoded video through LAN.)

I agree on UltraVNC generally, though if you have dual monitors TightVNC is much better.

thanks for all the replies,
I was using zones already, remote desktops crossed my mind , i was wondering if i missed a setting internally :)
I have an app on my iphone logmein  which should work. i'll check out the vnc recomendations too, thanks!
