Exporting to a Hand Held??
« on: May 11, 2002, 01:23:12 pm »

Anyone know how I can export to a hand held?  I have a Compaq Ipaq PA-2 player, downloaded the plug in, but still can not figure out how to copy any MP3's to it.  All I could find in the user manual is to double click on the hand held icon in the organizational tree and my hand held will show up, then drag & drop.  There is a plus sign next to the hand held icon, but I can not expand it, the best I can do is get to the plug in manager screen.  So far I do like this JukeBox, but if I can not copy to my hand held device, there's no sense in purchasing it.  Can any one help me out??  Thanks, Jim

What happens if you click on the |PLS| symbol?

You might try a search here for "compaq" or "Ipaq" or "win CE".

I'm not sure whether it is available as a drive under Windows.

On Monday, our handheld specialist, Steve, will probably reply.

Hi Iminfla,

from a Playlist or from Playing Now, you select a bunch of files and then right click. Select the Send To and then select Device and you should have your handheld avaialable there.

I do not have an Ipaq, but this is how it works for my portable player

Hello Jim,

If you have downloaded MJ version 8, first be sure that you have downloaded the iPaq version 8 Plug-in.(as a side note, I this Plug-in has been tested with the PA-1 but should work with the PA-2 as well.) After installing the Plug-in,expand the CD,DVD & Handhelds tree branch. You should now see the iPaq listed. If you click on it, the player will report back file status. To upload files, either right click and click "send to" as Claudio suggests, or drag and drop the files directly onto the iPaq icon. Click on the iPaq icon and you will see your queued files and have the option to rearrange the files and an "Options" button to set any optional features such as Normalization or reencoding during transfer that you want. Click Upload and you are done.

Thanks for the reply Claudio.
