This has worked for years.

You simply run Media Server:
Options > Startup > Windows Startup > Media Server

It handles system sleep and resume nicely.

This does not work for me

I can see Media Server running in my tray but recording's are missed unless I have MC18 present on the task bar.  Could this be an issue with the 129 release?

Is anyone else experiencing the problem?

In case any other soul experiences this wake up issue.
Check that you are not using the command MC18.exe /Close

The Close command also closes JRiver server

You can use MC18.exe /MCC 20007, 2 to Exit without closing the server

Seems MC18.exe /MCC 20007, 2 to Exit does not work from Theatre view

Closing Media Center doesn't close Media Server.

You can tell MC to run Media Server at Windows login in Options/Startup.

When I execute MC18.EXE  /Close it will close media server when executed from theatre view every time and is 100% reproducible.

Did you try it?

It does not close the server when executed from the standard view which may be where your misunderstanding stems from.

I have asked Matt to look into the anomaly. I suspect it is a theatre view bug.

The service starts after a re-boot as intended and is visible in the tray.

Have you tried using MC18.exe /close to exit the program?  You will no longer be able to find the server icon in the tray and of course will miss any recordings you may have set up

The bug also seems to be present in Standard View, my system is rarely used in any view except theater view hence my earlier reference to it.
 
I have recorded a log file that I believe captures the issue and sent it to support.  Comparing MC18.exe /close log versus closing with ALT F4 there are an awful lot of Destroy commands being sent ?
