« on: April 01, 2002, 01:30:47 pm »

I was lookin for the support on iPod. I saw it last time on the "Hardware" section, but I don't see it no more and I know I need a third party software for Media Jukebox to see it. I don't know what or where this third party software is now so can anyone help me with this?

Apple didn't but there's a program out there that makes iPod useable on PC and I don't know what that program is. It was on the Portable Music Players under Hardware, but it ain't there no more.

EdJones321,

If you go to the bottom of the "Handheld Plug-ins" page you will see a link to the program. It is called MacOpener and you can find it at http://www.dataviz.com/products/macopener/.  We post this as a solution based on a customer's suggestion who claimed it worked well. We have not tested it ourselves. The way it is supposed to work is that when running this program, your iPod will appear to your PC as a removable drive. As a result, it should show up in MJ under "Devices". Any feedback would be appreciated.

You might also try XPlay (http://www.mediafour.com/products/xpod). I've used it to mount an IPod as a removable drive but I didn't try using it with MJ. They offer a public alpha if you want to try it.
