How to transfer channels to another library?
« on: August 31, 2013, 07:00:01 pm »

I have scanned channels and done some recording in one library and want to transfer this to another library.  I see the xml file containing the recording rules but is there a similar file containing the scanned channels, the new names I've given them, and the guide channel mappings?

When you add a library, you can choose to clone it from another library.  That might work.

The library I want to transfer it to is not empty so I think clone would overwrite the existing library?

TV channels are part of the main library, you can not separately transfer them.

I think you can make a smart playlist of channels and export the playlist. Then import it into the other library. I tried it once by exporting, deleting the channels and reimporting the playlist into the same library. Different usecase, but may work.

It will only work if you have the sane tunertype in each PC though.
