Remote access security

A very basic question I think but I want to be sure! I have finally taken the plunge and opened up my router port to the big bad world so I can access Media Centre remotely. Assuming that someone gets through all the security and wants to delete or edit my library, if I have turned off "Auto sync with server" in Client Options on the server, will that prevent any changes being made from any Library client?

Make sure you use a login and password.  Set it up in Media Network settings on your server.
