unexpectedly quits, mp3s are distorted
« on: February 17, 2002, 05:23:11 am »

I'm trying out MJ7.2.280 to RIP my LP collection to MP3. I'm impressed with the auto track detection, after a little fiddling, it works quite reliably. I successfully RIPed 4 or 5 LPs, then let MJ sit idle for about 4 hours, when I returned, the first attempt quit unexpectedly with no warning. Since then, I've not been able to use MJ to RIP without it unexpectedly qutting without warinings.  When I tried using media editor to trim some beginning and ending time from the MP3s, the MP3s that are saved are distorted and unuseable. I'm using the LAME MP3 encoder. I downloaded the LAME MP3 encoder and the problem persists. MJ is running on Windows 2K,with latest hotfixes, writing to a separate IDE hard drive.Does anyone have any suggestions?
