I saw this car in Paris.  I think it's from around 1962.  A Super 90.

It hasn't been driven for a while.

Anyone know anything about this car?  It's a 356, I think.

It's a 356B, probably a 1961.

The numbers on the doorframe are:

Reutter
Karosserie
NR 113835

Kunstharzlack

which translates to:

It may be a 1961.  The engine grille on the back changed from a single to a double in 1962.

My old man had a 1959 356A back in the 60's (pretty unusual in Australia at the time and most apparantly thought it was some sort of VW).

His only had 88hp so the one you are looking at will be a BEAST at 90hp, I think my Line Trimmer puts out more power these days.     Shame it was a write off (low speed head on).

I guess it was some sort of VW, in a way.  The original engine was based on the VW engine, but put out twice as many HP.  I think the original VW was 35HP.  My neighbor's lawn mower has a bigger one.

And some of the bodies were designed by Karmann, who did the Karmann Ghia model for VW.  My high school girl friend's mother had a Karmann Ghia, and she (amazingly) let us drive it.  

I really feel sorry for all those guys who were born after 1970.  They missed so much.

A friend of mine had a Karmann Ghia.  It used to throw its wheels every so often.  It liked to swap ends quite a lot.  And having no weight over the front wheels it used to plant itself amazingly deep into the ditch in the winter.  On the plus side since the engine was right over its drive wheels it could pull itself out of the ditch fairly easily.  I for one do not miss that car.

around 64, when i took my dad's vw to memphis for service, i lusted after a '64 sc coupe on the lot - red with tan leather.

50 years of unrequited lust.

I don't have a Porsche, but I still have my basic version 1995 Toyota Corolla I bought when it was new.

It is in almost mint condition.

this year I replaced the heater blower motor (took about an hour), and the battery.

I have been having a 19 year love affair with my car, and I have no plans on selling it.

I do wish it had electric windows, and door locks.

the blue book value is between $400 and $900

I have a friend that works for Toyota and he always tries to sell me a new car, but he agrees that my car was one of the best built corollas.

FYI, a geo prizm is basically a Toyota corolla with minor changes

Honestly ! This car has 75 K klm .. it means a few merry go around on the N7 in the sixties   4 Xmas sent a letter for a Chateau-Margaux 1961/62/63/64 or any respectable Bordeaux ..  Boy I wish I could
