Using Blu-ray Hardware Players for DLNA
« on: August 30, 2014, 11:09:19 am »

I picked up a couple of $80 Blu-ray players this weekend.

Sony BDP-S3200

and

Samsung BD-5700

They are similar in size and apparent quality.  I didn't test Blu-ray playback.  I only tested DLNA.

They both work OK when using the device to "pull" content from MC's DLNA Server.

But when trying to "push" media from MC to the DLNA Renderer, it only worked with the Sony.  The Samsung doesn't show up as a Renderer in MC.

This means that Gizmo and JRemote would work only with the Sony.

I'm just seeing what inexpensive Blu-ray players can do.

Ok. Dare I ask that you run my Renderer Analyzer over these two players, to see what it says? (just export its  log files and PM them to me..)
