I bought the ID 202. it works wireless. I can cast to it. It can play from a thumb drive. I downloaded MC and now the ID plays files from MC using my computer as a server. I have not been able to drag and drop or move any files to the ID. Please help. Is it possible to use the ID as a server and render files at the same time?

You should be able to see the Id as a share on your network.
If you can't, get it's IP address from the Id menu and access it thusly (replacing 1.2.3.4 with your Id IP):

Windows:
Start->Run
\\1.2.3.4
Mac:
Connect to server->
smb://1.2.3.4

You should see 2 folders, InternalStorage which is the Id itself and ExternalStorage which is any USB device plugged into the Id.

Yes, I see the two folders. I can see the music file directory on the ExternalStorage USB device plugged into the Id. I cannot copy files to InternalStorage and I cannot create a directory on Internal storage. I am told I do not have authority and I need permission to perform this activity on a drag and drop copy attempt.

Access to the share is configured to be read-write as guest so it should just work.
Are you using Windows or a Mac? What version of the OS?

Sorry I forgot to ask if you are copying into the media directory on the InternalStorage share?
That's the place to put files (it's in the README.TXT in InternalStorage). The InternalStorage level itself is read-only.

I have looked for the media directory and have not found it. There are two backup directories and a lost & found directory on Internalstorage. The backup directories each have a zip file.

That's unfortunate, it sounds like it was deleted somehow.
You might need to run the repair utility.
What model number is your NUC (on the bottom)?

I am at work and the NUC is at home. I will check the number tonight. I received the Id about 3 weeks ago. Tell me how to repair and I will try that as well. Thanks

I'm building a new repair image with a function to remake the InternalStorage partition so you should wait until I post that..

Ran into some issues making the image. It should be ready on Thursday.

Look at the link Jim posted for creating the USB boot stick with this image.

When you boot the image and get to the repair menu, choose option 6 to rebuild the InternalStorage filesystem.

It works great. I am moving files to the Id. Thanks for all your help. 
The Id came with MC and I have now purchased MC for my computer. I purchased the windows license. Do I need to purchase a license for Linux? and, should they be combined?

You can use a Master License for Linux, Windows, and OSX.

The Id license is separate, you can but don't need to use your master license on it.
