Dolby Atmos and HTPC
« on: November 19, 2016, 05:21:21 am »

Hi Community!

I am massive impressed of Hilton's gear...wow!

I am in trouble with my new stuff and Dolby Atmos...I am not able to play Atmos files in the correct way.
I think it is an issue of the integrated Intel HD530.

Here is my modest gear:

HTPC: GA-Z170X-UD5 TH, 16GB Kingston DDR IV, i5-6500, SB ZxR, 250GB Samsung 840 EVO, Bluray GGC-H20L
TV: 65" Philips 65PUK7120/12
AVR: Denon AVR-X6300
Speaker: Bose Accoustimas 15 plus 4 Onkyo SKH-410 Atmos speaker ( I know...not the best solution)

By now the HTPC is only connected via HDMI to the AVR and from the AVR via HDMI to the TV.

Is this gear able to handle Dolby Atmos?
When I am using the bluray disk "Atmos for the home" to check the channels I never get correct results with the upfiring atmos speakers.

Any recomendations?

Best Regards,
Kubi

You have to bitstream atmos discs, don't you?

Hi Mattkhan!

I have tried it. I had played the needed file directly from the disk.
When the settings are at Denon-AVHRD (Intel(R) Display-Audio) [WASAPI] and DSP-Studio OFF and Bitstreaming: Yes (HDMI)
There is no sound. I have tried several setups. I have tried some settings in the DSP Studio but wihtout any correct success.

Hi!

I can confirm that the IGX HD530 isnt able to produce dolby atmos sound nor is it able to show flowlessly 4K.
I have bought a passive XFX Radeon RX 460 with 4GB and now everything is fine.
