Hi!

It's a quite surprising statement if you ask me but I have no idea if they are right. Anyway, I have very difficult to hear any differences on my audio system using MC as the media ripper and player...

The idea that there is "generation loss" when converting from FLAC to WAV to FLAC several times is non-sense.  If I'm not mistaken numerous experiments have been conducted which show that the audio data is IDENTICAL for as many conversions as you care to make.  I think I remember seeing tests of 1000 cycles or so.

So now they think that the metadata gets "contaminated" and that removing it fixes the issue for WAV and FLAC, except that FLAC is still vastly inferior.  I have a very hard to believing that could possibly be true.  This is one of those things where I say:

That doesn't make any sort of scientific sense.  Demonstrate it to me in a rigorous way and I'll believe it.  Until then, I think other factors are at play.
