I am coming to the JRiver world from Popcorn Hour, so that is the body of my networked media streaming experience. With JRiver will I be able to use an instance on my Win7 Pro workstation to manage my library, as I do now with NMJ and 3rd party tools, and another instance on a small Linux box in my home theater for playing my media?  Taking that one step further, I have another system to which I'd like to stream; can I use another Linux instance there?  Implied in my questions is another question: Can I do all of this with one license?

  • Where did I put my teeth?

If you're using MC on more than one OS, you can purchase a Master License.

The wiki has a topic called Media Network that describes the network features.  What you describe is possible.

  • I won! I won!

It should work as you want.  Keep in mind you can test for 30 days prior to plonking down the cash.
