JRiver MC23 blue screens with Tidal and Exclusive mode
« on: July 28, 2017, 12:14:13 am »

I have my JRiver set to ASIO so it picks up different Rez of Masters files. Sadly BSOD every single time with a IRQL error in the WDM driver once exclusive mode is enabled (which is a must otherwise JRiver always will sit on 24/48 rather then pick up the 24/96 combo).

Thx for help

Anyone has any idea what to do here? should I try to go directly USB device rather use JRiver WDM driver?

Thx

Thx for the reply. As noted in the other thread it most likely is an issue with the WDM driver in Exclusive mode. What is the process to file a support issue like this to JRiver? I have not seen how you get in touch with their support team.

Thx

I'd upload and post the minidumps created from the BSODs if I were you guys.

Any file sharing site will do (with a shared/public link); Dropbox, OneDrive, Mediafire, FileFactory, Mega, etc.

I have not seen how you get in touch with their support team.

The forum is how you get in touch with Support. The developers read the forums, and respond.

AD is suggesting you upload the minidumps to a file sharing location and then list where you put them in this thread, I believe.

Of course, Tidal isn't supported, but the WDM is, so you may get some help.

Read this: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,43159.0.html

PS: If Tidal is playing up to 24/96 files, set the WDM to 24/96 by configuring its properties via the Windows Playback Devices > JRiver WDM (can't remember correct name) > Properties > Advanced > Default Format. Windows will upmix to 24/96 (not ideal, but unavoidable with the WDM) if it needs to, and supply 24/96 to MC.

That way there will be no sample rate or bit depth switching in the WDM when Tidal switches to Exclusive Mode.

With that set, do you still get the blue screen?

As always, I could be wrong about the above. But I think not.  ;D
