Audio Only Mode?
« on: February 12, 2018, 02:26:52 pm »

Can this be set as the default startup view?

I think MC remembers if it was set to "Audio Only Mode" between sessions. It does for me (the check mark sticks) - even so I'm afraid I don't really know what difference it makes since I'm using MC just for Audio anyway.  ;)

What are you expecting MC to do?

If you want standard views remembered between sessions you could also check settings according to this https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,112049.msg777499.html#msg777499

I remember that well because it troubled me that I didn't get it right myself.

MC remembers the setting for Audio Only Mode - I'm using it right now. But it sounds to me like you're having issues with MC opening and starting to a different view? If this is the case you can try opening MC's Options and go to the Startup section and setting Location and Mode under Startup Interface to your desired starting view.

I chose AUDIO ONLY MODE and then shutdown MC 23. Reopened, and now in this mode at start up, Thank you for your responses.

You mean the interface? When you enable Audio Only Mode it disables features in MC, causing the startup view to change. In MC Options > Startup > change Location to Last Location and Mode to Last Exit View and see if that helps - it should reopen to the last view you used.

Otherwise, I'm having trouble understanding what exactly you mean, because the Audio Only Mode setting is saved correctly here in my tests but it sounds you're referring to something else, one of the audio views instead. Screenshots would greatly help.

This is the opening screen, after I selected AUDIO ONLY MODE.

I don't see anything wrong with that.  Is there?

You should be aware that when you enable Audio Only Mode you won't see associated assets like PDFs because MC classifies these as Data, not Audio.

Maybe you just need to click on Audio in the tree on the left.

I think supported file types for "Extras" are still available with "View Extras" - it works for me for booklets and such as long as those files are within an albums' folder.

I last tried Audio Only mode before the View Extras feature existed. I wasn't able to see associated assets in JRemote. But it's good to know the "View Extras" feature works.

At least it works for the Desktop version. Never tried JRemote though.
