Media Jukebox and Media Center, are definitely the best mp3 programs out there. I have tried dozens of other mp3 applicatoins for Windows, including WinAmp, Sonique, Music Match Jukebox (even paid for that one), GreyAmp, and probably some others, and they all brought me to the same conclusion: "These programs suck, does Windows have at least one decent mp3 application?"
I say that becuase I used to be a Macintosh man. I owned one for about 3 years, which also let me try out the many mp3 applications on that operating system as well. Most mp3 players for the Macintosh did suck as well, except one, iTunes. This program seemed to have everything in it that I had ever looked for in an mp3 workstation and it definitely comes close to Media Center 9, but I think the plain and simple fact that it's only for Macintosh, makes it inferior
There are, on the other hand, some things that IF Media Center 9 would eventually incorporate, would make the program 1000x better than iTunes.
1. I really liked the "one click" burn feature on iTunes. From the "playing now" list or straight from the "library" view, whatever files were visible at that moment, were able to be burned with one click. There were no confirmation dialogue boxes and anything of that sort.
2. I see that this next topic of improvement has been addressed, but there is always room for improvement, and that is in the YADB for getting the cd information. There is an external program I use that seems to get the cd's information with whole bunch more accuracy, and I wish that I didn't really have to use that external program. If only Media Center could figure out what database that program uses or something to make theirs as dependable!
3. The volume/seeking bar needs to be resizable independently of the other windows, such as the playing now column. When you make the volume/seeking bar bigger, the playlist and playing now columns get smaller! What if you want to have a really big volume bar and a really big playing now column? You can't! And thus you have to make a compromise!
4. Get more visualizatoin plug-ins and template plug-ins! iTunes and SoundJam for Macintosh and now a few select Windows mp3 players have a certain visualization plug-in that, in my opinion, makes all other plug-ins look pathetic! This plug-in is called G-Force. It is written by Andy O'Meara. He also made a plug-in called White Cap, which I believe is sort of the G-Forces' predecessor, (maybe not) but it is also just as cool. As for templates, I wish I could find a Template that displayed only these items: Song Name, Artist Name, and Album Name. And have these written as large as possible on your screen. There are some templates that have this, but they are written sooo little, when I switch my monitor over to my television, I can't even read the information.
5. A Search Bar that is always visible in every view of the player, and when you type in it, it automatically jumps to the library view. Maybe this search bar could be in the upper right hand corner of the player.
