Runtime error while burning

i'm running mj9 161 and have recently installed a liteone 52x cdr. When I try to burn from a playlist of 12 songs it does fine until about 8 or 9 then i notice the progress indicator doesn't complete the last 10 or 15 percent of the song. After the last track I get a runtime error message and when I click ok, poof mj is closed. The disc is playable but when you get to the last few tracks it burns one song across several tracks and the song starts about midway through.

I downloaded the most current drivers and installed them and I don't have any problems burning in other programs such as rio or soundblaster.

My OS is win98se.

any ideas?

Wait for tonight's build which fixes a CD burning problem.  It will be posted here.

mj9.0.170 didn't fix it. Froze while closing burn session and when I restarted pc, the tracks burned from 7 on were all partials (each song was broken over 2 or 3 tracks, or the song started mid way through).

any other suggestions?

ooops forgot to mention im using a lite-on ltr52246s CDR if that helps, I also installed most recent drivers prior to upgrading to mj9 170

Try turning on MC's logging for CD burning by changing the value of this registry key from zero (0) to one (1):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Media Jukebox\CD Writer\Logger

Then just start up Media Center and try to burn a CD (you can leave test mode checked to avoid creating a coaster). Then exit MC and find a file in the MC program directory called "cdwriter.log" and email that to me. It might help narrow down where the problem lies.
Meanwhile, you could try unchecking the "decode directly" option and see if that makes a difference.
