Mute in Room Correction - Possible enhancement
« on: May 28, 2020, 09:53:32 am »

In the room correction pane of the DSP Studio in JRiver, you can mute a speaker. It seems that that mutes the input to that speaker, pre bass management.
I was working with someone on a trinnov processor recently and they had the option to mute the signal either pre- or post-bass management. What this meant was that, if you wanted to EQ a sub we were able to mute the left speaker post-bass management leaving the subs playing.

Would it be possible to introduce a second Mute option when BM is engaged that allows the muting of the non-redirected content only?

So you could Mute the input, or mute the output on the main channels.
Similarly you could mute the sub post BM meaning you'd get just the main channel.

You can use a peq block for this, just place it after room correction

Nice, thanks!

While I have you, any update on using BEQ in JRiver? I know this was something you were talking about working on.

no progress unfortunately, not much I can do until MCWS supports the calls I need (see https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,124236.msg860218.html#msg860218 for details)
