Reassigned new letter to hard drive
« on: June 16, 2020, 09:22:27 am »

Hi,
I am tired of my external drive changing letter whenever I stick in another USB drive (my library drive is not permanently on), so I have chosen a higher drive letter, M, which hopefully will now remain the same.
However, I do not really want to reinstall my 1.8tb of music all over again. Can I easily reassign a drive letter to my library? I am still on MC25 at present. Windows 10 pro 64.
Cheers.

Great, thank you. A bit of a leap of faith, so basically I did the following, step by step....

1.   Edit - Select all
2.   Hit F6 [= library tools rename etc]
3.   Then selected Find & Replace
4.   Then typed in E:\JRiver in the first box and M:\JRiver in the second box
then just enter, and Bingo, seconds later it was done.

Cheers

This assigns permanent letters to external devices. Works wonders.
