I have a problem with picture degradation on recorded TV playback. It appears at non-regular intervals, approximately every minute or so, and lasts for one or two seconds.
It does not happen when watching live TV.
It does not happen on playback, from the start, of a program which is currently recording (delayed playback).
It only occurs when watching a finished recording, and is then actually part of the recording, so I was able to pause playback and grab a screenshot. Playback of recordings made on another PC also exhibits this issue. I tried a rescan, but the problem remains.
Both PCs are running 28.0.105 64bit, Win10.

It's happening on all of my eight or so usual channels.

The only antivirus installed is Windows Defender, tamed as per JRiver's recommendations.

Probably worth adding that recording is local.
Signal strength is 90, quality is 100.

Are recordings going to the same drive as the OS?
Is it an SSD or HDD? internal or USB or NAS?
Maybe bad spot(s) on the hard drive?

Thanks for the suggestions. Recording is normally to an internal SSD. I tested recording to the OS SSD drive, but the problem remains.

I changed the recording filetype from TS to JTV, and so far the issue has not reoccurred. I would prefer to record in TS, but it's not the end of the world to convert to TS afterwards.

I do wonder if I still have an underlying problem, as this only affects finished TS recordings. Recordings which have not yet finished play fine.
