YADB Track Name Lookup
« on: March 04, 2003, 12:08:00 pm »

Is there a problem with the Internet Track Name Lookup?  I upgraded to MC 9 last week, partly because I wanted to rip my old audio cassettes and use the YADB Lookup.  When I use the Record Sound tool and then the trackname lookup, I get this message: "Failed to connect to YADB server."  However, the CD lookup with YADB is OK.  Thanks for any help.

JimH - This is a bug and has been like this for the last few builds.

There is something not quitre right here.

A an example today iwas ripping B-52's Vinyl Album the B-52's and i tried the Internet lookup at leat 4 times witht he usual error
"Failed to connect to YADB"

But when i unselected the album name and just left the name of the artist it pulled up all of the B-52's albums.

Funny thing is that the one i wanted was listed exactly "exactly " as i had first typed in.

Something not right with this part of the code.

I think this is just an issue with a timeout value being too small. I upped the value and it works fine now on my system. Please try the next build.

We'll see if we can get the searches to be a little quicker when somebody gets back from Antarctica. ;D

Build 9.0.124 seems to have solved the problem.  I'll see if the lookups are a little faster too.  They were quite slow before. Thanks!
