About reordering playlists
« on: January 20, 2023, 04:07:00 am »

I am using JRiverMC 30.0.40.
I would like to rearrange my playlist.
After dragging the playlist I want to move, I get a menu with "move, copy, cancel" but when I select move, nothing happens.
Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there another way to do this?
Thank you in advance.

Open the playlist and drag tracks up or down to rearrange.

Are you asking about rearranging song order in a particular playlist or the order of the listing of all playlists?

I want to sort the playlist itself, not the order of the songs in the playlist.

For example

ASIAN
Instrumental
Japanese POP
Other
POP
SoundTracks
Western music

I would like to rearrange the playlist as follows.

POP
Western music
Japanese POP
ASIAN
Instrumental
SoundTracks
Other

Thank you

I believe playlists always sort alphabetically.  You can force an order with careful naming. For example:
1. Western Music
2. Japanese Pop

A very useful feature for organizing many playlists is playlist groups. Here I have created Playlist Groups: "Music", "1. Pop", and "2. Asian"

Music\1. Pop\1. Western Music
Music\1. Pop\2. Japanese Pop
Music\2. Asian\1. Instrumental
Music\2. Asian\2. Soundtracks

You can expand and collapse groups of playlists to reduce clutter.

Thank you, comox.

I see that the Playlist is forced to be sorted.
I will put the number in front of the name.
I will also try to use playlist groups.
