If this would be possible, there is no space left for the tree, is there?

Like it but just dont see it working with the amount of space on the screen.

AW's BIGGEST limitation is going to be the fact that it's stuck in that corner and is the same width as our tree - making it wider means reducing space for the panes.

Right, I didn't see that....
the thing is that i almost never use the trees and even when i do, i don't lack of space on my screen (19" 1280*1024 75htz)
... what about an option ?
"Expand/Collpase AW panes"

I don't dev so i can't imagine the work or problems this brings up, so excuse me if i'm daydreaming ;)

EDIT > Then again i'm french  ;D

You got that right - my personal opinion is that making a program as defineable as possible by the user is the ultimate way to make a program meet everyones tastes.
Best program in my opinion is one that is TOTALLY user configuable BUT with the options cleverly and well laid out so that everyone gets it doing just what they like :)

I agree, wholeheartedly (which is good, as I've mentioned the very same thing myself!).

I think it would be very functional to have the ability to expand/collapse every pane in the AW as well as the "Tree".  When I'm using the AW, I'm hardly ever using the tree  and vice versa.  I suggest a GUI similar to Macromedia's Dreamweaver's Panel Groups:
http://pages.sbcglobal.net/scottraymond/PanelGroups.jpg

Note that Panel Groups can be maximized, minimized, or closed altogether (the icon on the right lets you close or reorder the groups).  Another really neat feature of Panel Groups is that they're remembered between sessions.

wuub gave a great example of what having two AW panes open can do.

Please...

Thanx guys :)
I also agree with sraymond about the remembered settings between sessions...
It's the same for library panes... being able to say that you want MC to remember (or not) your last position in the panes... sometimes it's annoying having to reselect everything when switching from M.Library to P.Now and back.

Don't know if i made sense there  ?
