License restoration
« on: November 08, 2002, 11:42:15 am »

Hi there,

sorry if that question has already been asked'n solved, but...
everytime I reboot my PC, I get a message from MJ that my licence information does not match what's on the machine, and it asked me to restore. So I do and it works, until the next reboot...

What am I missing?  ? Thanks in advance,

Fifrelin

What version of MJ do you have and what is the name of the license file?

There is a FAQ on licensing under jukebox/purchase above.

Hi,

sorry for the delay, but I had problems loggin' in. Anyway, that's solved...
My version of MJ is:

Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.388
Install Path: C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000  Workstation 5.0 Service
Internet Explorer: 6.0.2800.1106
ComCtl32.dll: 5.50.4916.400
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2800.1106
Shell32.dll: 5.00.3502.5436
wnaspi32.dll: Internal ASPI Layer

I did read the FAQ, not sure it helps. If I understand correctly, my license number allows me to restore keys. I've done that. The key is under C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox, and is a file like MediaJukebox8-XXXXX.mjr.

I was told this morning that my information didn't match...so I restored. Again, may I be doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

By the way, what do you mean by name of licence file? Do you want my license number? Please confirm. Thanks,

Can you give us the exact text of the error message?
Thanks.

Hi,

the error message is:
Computer information doesn't match the information stored in the license. Click Ok to go to the license restoration web page.

This happens pretty much everytime I open MJ after booting my pc.

Another piece of information: in my J River directory, I have 2 keys:
Media Jukebox8-11554
MediaJukebox8-11554
The second one is wrong/doesn't work. I'm not sure why I have the two. Should I delete the wrong one? Should I have the correct one in another directory?

Thanks for your help.

Fifrelin

P.S.: let me know if you need the license number.

I'm not sure what's causing that. Do you have "administrator" privilege on your computer?

Have you tried restoring from the internet instead of the local file?
