Install changes
« on: April 26, 2004, 09:46:49 pm »

This is the second build that, when installing, I accept the liscence agreement and it automatically jumps to installing with the auto options.  Usually I go through the custom just to make sure I don't get the stupid desktop icon.

It must be doing the "auto-install after 30 seconds" except it's waiting 0 seconds or something.  I'm not sure.

The install has changed.  There is only one dialog now instead of two.  If you look carefully next time, you'll see the advanced option there.

Is rebooting necessary? Will it be forever?
I try a lot less new versions due to that. Is it just me, or all new MC builds require a reboot?

Thanks

I think I've only had to reboot 3 times since v10 went beta.  And 2 of those were 2 builds in a row.

It took me a second look to see the advanced options in the license agreement screen.  There's no option to NOT accept the agreement, just whether or not you want a quick install, or a custom install.

Nice change, but easy to miss.

Any chance of making the install remember my custom selections from the previous install?  I always try to remember to add a shortcut to the quick launch bar, and not to the desktop, but sometimes I miss the options.  I think I saw that several people also would like this.  Is it hard to do?
