Video CD Support
« on: September 14, 2004, 09:03:33 am »

MC 11.0.81 added support for Video CD playback.  Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

I am not sure how the Video CD support works???

I put in the Video CD, goes to Drives & Devices (In MC), choose the drive, manage to see a file (named something along the line of vcdcc.....) and I double click it.

MC gives me an error saying that it is unable to play visualization for this kind of file?

I've tried it with couple of other Video CD having the same result.

I manage to get the same Video CD to be playing on Zoomplayer so I seriously doubt it is any codec related problem.

Tried it both with 11.0.81 and 11.0.82

My current system info:

Try selecting the drive and pressing play.

VCD works for me. Haven't played with very much except plunk in a VCD and play some of it, but it seems to work well.

One small suggestion. It may be appropriate to rename the "CD & DVD" button in Theater View to "CD, VCD & DVD" in order "advertise" the new functionality.

Jim,

Just for fun, I tried an SVCD and that does not seem to work. But I guess that SVCD is not supported yet, right?

MC was just playing standard VCD disks. Please try the next build. It should play SVCD disks as long as you have an Mpeg2 decoder installed.

escaflo:  Were you trying to play SVCD disks? If so, try the next build.

Thanks!

Can we catalog VCD's as well?

You should be able to.
