Streaming audio - Airport Express?
« on: January 02, 2005, 05:18:05 pm »

I am using MC 10 and running Media Server.

I would like to be able to stream audio to a device like Airport Express and select the tracks from any laptp that happens to be in the same room/rooms as the Airport Expresses (or similar).

I can already stream to the laptops that run MC 10.

What equipment can I buy that works with MC 10 (or MC 11 at push) and is this possible?

TIA.

Have you followed the work we've been doing on UPnP?  It's similar to what you want, but the selection is done on the UPnP device.   Support is very limited at this point but should expand steadily:

Netgear Digital Media Receiver
and
Sony Roomlink

Thanks Jim,

I've been out of the loop for a while.

Where can I look to catch up?

I don't see the advantage to this in still using the device to browse music but from MC's library???
