Web site changes
« on: February 08, 2005, 10:01:03 am »

We've switched to a new web server so old URL's may not work.  Please report anything that's broken.

Old links like www.jrmediacenter.com were redirected to something like www.musicex.com/mediacenter.  They are no longer redirected.  www.jrmediacenter.com is the new home page.

Interact should not be affected.

Jim,

Don't know if it's related, but I have to log in each time I access interact. This happened both at the office and now at home, and the first time I realized it your post was already posted . Am I inadvertently blocking a cookie or something? Using IE 6.0.

Thank you.

OK, Thanks. It must be a problem somewhere between the keyboard and the chair, then  ;)

It's probably a problem of DNS propagation, since it happens both at home and in the office. If I go to www.jrmediacenter.com and click on  the "Interact/Support " link of the top menu, I get the home page for interact and I'm not logged-in (I'm being welcomed as Guest). However, whithout loggin-in, clicking on any of the Forum tittles opens the specific forum page and I'm magically logged-in again.
Not a big deal anyway.

Thank you, Jim.

Actually, that makes sense. The base URL for the forum linked to on the jrmediacenter.com pages is http://yabb.jrmediacenter.com/interact whereas it used to be http://yabb.musicex.com/interact. This means that the cookie that stores your login info (by site) is not found when you go in through the new URL. It works again when you enter a board because that makes the site refer to itself as http://yabb.musicex.com/interact.

I'm going to consider the issues in changing it back.

We did consider the issues and I changed it back.
