Post Final Release - MC11 Bugs and Recs.

1.

Media Center 11 DSP?

192kHz/32bit playback ...CPU hovers at 60%

MC10 & Wavelab 5 average about 3% cpu usage at same bit & sample rate, so I find it strange that MC11.232 has such an issue with this.

2. Highlighting multiple files for tag editing by dragging a box and highlight enough files so the window scrolls downward, you get tag changes on files above where you started (and thus did intend to change). This can really screw you up since it edits tags out of view of the user. This is STILL happening with .232

3. Library Browser is not fully functional to users with high screen resolutions and fonts bigger than standard 8 type. The Subtext links like Albums, Files, etc.  is not viewable; totally removes the functionality of the Library browser unfortunately.

4. DSP settings & crossfades getting burned to disc even though option is unchecked. I am successful in turning off DSP effects if I check the box, go in and set to gapless; even though the checkbox remains unchecked anyway.

Also was getting last track chopped off; probably due to this error.

5. "Failed to import 26 files" - anyway to figure out what 26 files out of 9,000?

I think I have some files that replay gain couldn't analyze; maybe that could help locate them. Might be a feature to consider in the future to help find these files; a button that then lists offending files.

6. Is there anyway to adjust the scrolling amount in MC? No matter what I set my Logitech mouse to, MC always uses the same. This makes seeing album thumnails difficult as I would like to adjust the scroll amount to allow for full viewing of the thumbnails w/o them getting cut in half etc.

7. No dropdown window in top panes e.g. Artist Album. This is where I used to edit with MC10 and now it’s a pain. It’s not even skinned by MC11. Just a plain Windows box that does not do auto complete or have dropdown box.

8. Can’t stop Analyze Audio once started as in previous editions. Shutdown through task manager needed.

9. Library browser is handy but many use and switch between Album Thumbnail views in view schemes. The album covers just "say more" to you when your browsing and provide a good overview.

The problem: when you click on an album it doesn't make the above panes shift into that selection; instead the red check marks appear accordingly.

If Genre, Artist, Album, Name are listed above as panes it would be nice to be able to click on an album (not double click) thumbnail below and have the above panes represent that selection. Currently, it seems like a waste as the red check marks light up but mainly down out of site and at random; I just can't see a use for that. More details here as it gets a little more complez than this.

10. MC should remember where each View Scheme "was" when switching between media types; this is a serious pain since MC is a powerful editor but really slows down the workflow, if you need to flip between Documents that contain info your editing into your tags fields in Audio.

11. Maybe someone has an answer for this one: MC should ignore spaces after field entries so as to avoid listed duplicates; so far as I know you can only ignore articles.

12. Display the current file playing in the list e.g. highlight and jump to the current track when viewing in main (lower) field area. I remember winamp did this and it was handy because not everyone use playing now, and this also allows a quick edit. The option to do this would be great because it would obvioulsy be annoying trying to edit tags and gaving the view bounce around.

- skin effect "negative" does not invert colors of all objects

- sorting of albums with multiple artists (soundtracks, samplers) doesnt work in each case

- slower than mc10
