Question re Nero Fast CD Burn
« on: May 23, 2005, 04:43:00 pm »

What exactly is this? Is this different than using the "Burn CD" from the action window? Does MC use the Nero plugin for normal cd burning? Should I be using the Nero plugin over the normal method? I have never tried using the Nero plugin but I've always wondered about it.

Where have you seen that?

MC doesn't ever use Nero.

I didn't see it, I just asked. I have always had it there in my plugins and I don't know anything about it.

So, should I be using it or not?

Here, in my "Drives and Devices" window.

It obviously is a hook into Nero but I don't know much about it. I know that others have mentioned it here in regards to the unlimited Aydin folders bug.

You have NERO Premium installed? I think it's an option in NERO, I remeber seeing it during install and I deactivated it, Try uninstalling and reinstalling NERO/.

Okay thanks. No need to uninstall Nero as the plugin isn't hurting anything. I was just curious about it and whether the Nero plugin offered any extra functionality over the normal internal MC burning.

If you have an extra cd, can you please give it a try and report back? I would be very curious to see what it does.

Thanks,

Will do. I'm on the road for the next couple of weeks but I'll try it when I get back.

That isn't a plug-in.  It's just Nero presenting itself to Windows as a drive, and MC finds the drive.  What would happen if you tried to use it from within MC is anyone's guess.
