11.0.280 (5/31/05)

1. Fixed: DirectSound playback could throw a "too much spent data" message in some cases.
2. Fixed: Tooltips were not working properly in the Action Window.
3. Fixed: Playing Internet radio could change the track properties of the previous file in Playing Now in some cases.
4. Fixed: When playing very short tracks with the Disk Writer output plugin, filenames would not always be generated properly.
5. Fixed: For CD audio files, the bit depth, sample rate, and number of channels were not collected and displayed properly.
6. Fixed: Could not find Media Servers.
7. Fixed: Importing large data files could cause an "out of memory" error in some cases.
8. Fixed: For audio CD burns, tracks with duration less than 2 seconds are not allowed since they cause an error during burning.
9. Changed: Pages showing user interaction have been removed from the installation if 'Express' setup is selected.

11.0.279 (5/7/05)

1. Fixed: Some XML files would not load properly, causing Blade mini-me skin (and possibly others) to not work.
2. Fixed: YADB submission could cause a crash in some cases.
3. Fixed: With sample-rate conversion enabled, the audio could hiccup in some cases.
4. Fixed: When switching audio output formats, a small portion of the last track would not be played before advancing.
5. Optimized: Improved CPU usage and skip protection of DirectSound audio playback.
6. Changed: Clicking an entry in the Channels list control, on either "TV Channels" property page
or "Scan Channels" dialog window, will no longer result in switching to the channel automatically, due to performance issue related to HDTV device.
7. New: Added context menu for TV Channels list control to allow users to select commands to "Tune To Channel", on both "TV Channels" property page and "Scan Channels" window, and "Delete Selected Channel(s)" and "Edit Station Name", only on "Scan Channels" window.
8. Changed: MC would not properly redraw the position slider for skins that had large position sliders when switching between windows.

11.0.278 (5/26/05)

1. Changed: Added confirmation message box before resetting TV channels by re-scanning.
2. Fixed: Editing was allowed in some Combo Boxes where editing should not be allowed in TV configuration.

4. Fixed: In some cases (after deletion, etc.) Media Center would not properly clear a list's selected items.
5. Fixed: Sometimes MC could report "Failed to load file associations" while running a sharing plugin.
6. Fixed: With sample rate conversion enabled, the end of the song could be truncated slightly with some outputs.
7. Changed: When changing multiple filenames with a library tool, MC will add a note to the confirmation dialog informing the user that this action may move disk files.
8. Fixed: When showing a "Confirm Database Changes" dialog, MC could start saving tags in the background causing a confusing user flow.
9. Fixed: When starting in Media Library with an empty library, MC could display a warning about an import already running.
10. Fixed: Library Server was not serving all thumbnails correctly.

11.0.277 (5/25/05)

1. Changed: When removing tracks from Playing Now, the list could get redrawn twice in some cases. (slower than necessary and could look less ideal)
2. Fixed: Rip status column could be overly slow on some systems.
3. Fixed: Old installation instructions on reboot were not getting cleared after they were run (and failed) given the impression that all subsequent installs were failing to install components.
4. Optimized: Speed of UPnP Server increased.
5. Fixed: While playing an audio CD, MC could show an error about failing to create the CD Manager.

Tagging cover art still happens in the foreground.

Three new threads were split from this one.  You can find them on the index for the board.

Synchin Ipod

When you click synch, MC pauses for a while calculating the available space. That's fine. But it wont actually synch the portable info to the library (and give you the "Saving tag info" message) until you click somewhere in the library. Why is this necessary. Wouldnt it be better if it did both steps automatically.

park,

As soon as you click on 'Synchronize', the library is updated. I made changes tonight that will cause the changes to attempt to be written to the files immediately.

The following seems buggy to me.

I often use the following function:
right-click on song > Library Tools > Rename Files from properties.
In the pop-up the rule for naming directories and the filename can be set.

All rules work with a default that can be changed. This works for 'base path' and the rule for the file name. But if I blank out the rule for directories this will not be saved as a default. I would like to have this as a default:

In other words: I would like my rule for directories to be empty by default. Maybe an empty preset can be added?

A variation of an old problem still exists:

The right-click menu is cancelled if the Actiion Window -> File Properties -> Image is active and you are viewing a view scheme and you right-click on an item in the top half of the Content window and that click requires the Image to be drawn (because it is new).

I'm viewing a view scheme that is by Artist (Group), Artist and Year-Album and have an Artist selected with 7 albums (in the far right pane).  Right-clicking on those albums always takes two clicks because the album cover art for each has to be drawn on each click (the old problem noticed with other right-clicks and fixed a few releases back...this type of right-click is still broke).

Cover art disappearing - Reproducible scenario:

1) Rip an album that has no cover art found

2) Scan your own cover art & assign it to the first album

3) Rip another album

4) When the cover art scan occurs at the end of the 2nd rip, you will see it scan for both the newly ripped album as well as the one from the first rip.  At the end of the scan, the user added art for the first album is now gone.

The only way I have found to preserve my own scanned art is to exit MC11 & restart after any album where I added my own cover art.  Otherwise, it only lasts until the next rip.

Yikes!  I found a bug that almost cost me dearly tonight.

(Hi guys - it's been a while!)

I dragged a bunch of songs onto my portable.  Prior to hitting the Transfer button, I went into Show List and deleted some songs from the queue that I decided I didn't really want sync'ed.  MC11 instead deleted the originals!!  "File Missing" showed up in the list and suddenly I realized what happened.  Ayeeee...thank goodness for an undelete program, since they didn't even go in the recycle bin on the way.  Tell me it ain't supposed to be this way by design!  :)

Bug - Updated date field in mp3.  It seems to work except it still shows the original date in the main display area.  This is occuring for all songs that I have recently added to library and then changed the date for.

DougHamm--
I can confirm your bug, and it seems like a whopper.  Forewarned by your report, I tried it with a track I was willing to risk:  Queen/We are the champions (it came on a 70's collection CD, I swear).
At any rate, after Freddy Mercury bravely sacrificed himself via your method, I got a dialogue box that said "HH Delete Error" and suddenly Freddy and his song had disappeared--poof! (sorry).  Not in the recycle bin, and not showing a missing file icon next to the track listing.  But when you try to play it it skips to the next track.
I'd hate to think that miserable song is recoverable, but what if I'd deleted a whole list?

I found another minor bug. If you have cover art saved inside the song file (I don't know if the same problem exists if the files are not inside) and do the Copy To Clipboard operation, the resulting file is slightly skewed. The leftmost 3 columns of pixels are actually supposed to be on the rightmost side of the picture.
