8.0.382 Burn Problem
« on: October 03, 2002, 09:54:13 am »

Just upgraded to 8.0.382, and now my TDK 40x VeloCD won't burn CDs.  It worked fine until the upgrade, and now I get an "Error: Write Command Failed on device 1:0:0 Unexpected Target Error (04h 00h 04h).

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Hmmmm.  I have that exact drive and didn't have a problem.  I did notice that I was locked into the generic driver after the install and had to quit and restart MJ before it would let me uncheck "use generic".  Once I did that though, I was able to burn fine.

Just out of curiosity, is the drive connected to a motherbard IDE port or an add-on card?

It's the only device (I have it set as master) connected to the motherboard's secondary IDE connector.

On another one of my machines, unchecking "Use intenal ASPI layer" and installing the Adaptec 4.71 ASPI layer fixed the target error.  You might want to give it a shot.
