yadb question
« on: January 19, 2006, 09:58:14 pm »

Does MC 11 offer other sources of getting album information than YADB. It is weak in this area.  Many of my albums do not get infomation on YADB, but I can get the same information when I-Tunes reads the CD.  I'm encoding a lot of albums and it is tiresome trying to find out what some of the titles are when the YADB does not recognize the CD.  I just wonder if there is a work around with Media Center 11 on this topic.  Thanks.

No, there is no work around.  However, once you rip from the itnues db, please update to the yadb. :)

Are these store-bought CDs or home-burned CDs?

YADB performs really well for me. What CDs is it failing on for you? Popular? Obscure? Give me more details and I'll find out what's going on.

I just re-ripped the bulk of my collection (I've only a banker's box of them left to go) and have only had a handful fail.  However, there have been a few times I've had to do the lookup a second time to find a cd.  If you get a failure you might try right clicking the CD and selecting Update from CD Database.  And please let us know if that helps.
