When you import them, is MC reporting that it failed to import those files or just not trying to import them at all?

What are the file extensions that aren't getting imported?

I guess those files are in MPEG-2 format. Perhaps your system does not have the needed codec installed. Can you play the files with Windows Media Player?

You may want to download and install this decoding filter/codec pack:

- or this if your CPU supports SSE2:

Try a search for one of the files in MC.  It may have been imported as Media Type audio.  If so, you can change the Media Type for these files in MC file properties.

Select a few files, hit Alt-Enter to open properties, then look around for Media Type.

If you changed the Media Type to video, they should show up in Video now.

I've had this happen to me a few times as well. Is there an audio file type that has the extension .mpeg? I've only ever seen it used on video files.

Theoretically, it can be either audio or video, but I agree with you that video is by far the most common.
