Backing up data

How do I back up 'all' my Media Center 11 data? Is it possible to backup all the data including library files, settings, insatlled plugins, installed skins?

you can simply use a Free backup program like Karen's replicator

it works good

Or Winzip 10 Pro allows you to backup using Jobs and you can simply put it in windows as a "Scheduled Tasks"

Actually I tested a few backup programs for file syncing etc... from Microsoft's free Syntoy (very unreliable) to allway sync, ok, fast but license based on hardware key yuk... to:

SyncBackSE ($25) for up to 4 or 5 personal PCs.

I tested it all weekend and can safely backup my 200gb of data to a working drive and a backup external USB drive.

It has proven reliable, very flexible and reasonable.

Between MC, and SysbackSE, and only $65 I have a great working solution for all my multimedia needs...

I use the free version of Syncback for nearly 2 yrs now after i heard bout it here.

Note that its fine for backup of media partions, it *cannot* handle your system or windows parition, for that you would need to get the pay version. I don't need this as Ghost handles that for me.

But the best part that syncback offered was 'sync' since not all files change between backups, so syncback "syncs" only the changed files or only those that have changed. This usually results in much faster backups than backup of the entire partition. It's quite user-friendly and you can configure how & what you want "sync'd"

I tried Syncback (as well as several other synching programs) and ended up using Smartsync Pro (smartsync.com).  I find it easier to use and more "intuitive" than Syncback, while still having plenty of advanced features.
