Is There an Error List
« on: May 24, 2006, 10:56:29 pm »

I'm having trouble burning cd's from MJ8. The test runs fine, but then when I burn, I get about 1/5 th of an 80 min cd burned and get this message:

A device error occurred. Error number is 1051
Error data is: KEY: 5 ASC: 21 ASCQ: 2

How can I either fix it or fine out what it means?
I've got enough coasters.
Thanks,
Dick

i think it is a unknown device error

It may not work with MJ8 because it does not know your drive

you may need to try MC11 it is a newer product from JRiver

Try slowing the burn speed down.   Or try our Media Center product.   www.jrmediacenter.com .

Thanks, I'm going to try slowing the speed down. Someone (grandkid) screwed up my computer, because until about a month ago, cd burning, etc worked well. And and my Roxio will burn both .wav and data cd's. And I really didn't make any changes to my MJ8 (what the grandkid did, I don't know.

Nothing has worked. I loaded MC 11 and it wouldn't finish a burn. Tried slowing the burn speed dwon to 1x without results; all scans, regedit, dr watson, etc all are normal. Suggestions? I'm to the point of deleting all my programs, reloading XP, and starting all over again.

Try uninstalling other CD burning software.

Or try Media Center.
